The International Relations Committee serves to welcome visiting guests, and most especially foreign scholars, to the Patent and Trademark Office. Interacting with the Office of Policy and International Affairs, the committee provides information, assistance, and friendship to scores of people who visit the PTOS each year. With visitors coming to attend USPTO provided training classes, the committee schedules luncheons and other opportunities for visitors. At these functions, members meet visitors from patent and trademark communities around the world and share their thoughts and experiences concerning their system of intellectual property and their everyday lives. Additionally, the committee provides social activities within embassies around the Washington D.C. area.
