Call for Volunteers - Nov. 14: Noche de Ciencias/Night of Science

As an advocate for STEM education for students in grades K-12,
PTOS Education Committee
is happy to invite you to participate by signing up to volunteer for
Noche de Ciencias
(Night of Science)!

About the event
Noche de Ciencias (Night of Science) is a nationwide program sponsored by SHPE National that promotes interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) via hands-on activities for students in grades K-12 and their families. These activities are designed to help develop problem solving and inventive thinking skills and introduce participants to the intellectual property concepts of patents and trademarks. The event will take place Thursday, Nov. 14, from 5:30-8 p.m. ET in the Clara Barton Auditorium, USPTO Headquarters, Alexandria, VA. More than 500 students and parents are expected to attend.
This particular event is a joint effort by the USPTO’s Office of Public Engagement, the USPTO Chapter of the Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), the PTOS Education Committee, and Alexandria City Public Schools.

How to sign up to volunteer
The Noche de Ciencias Planning Committee is seeking volunteers to help with assisting exhibitors, greeting guests, managing the registration table, guiding attendees through the event, and serving pizza.
If interested in helping to inspire the next generation of innovators, let us know! RSVP to SHPE@uspto.gov by Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Bringing your kids to Noche de Ciencias
The event is free and open to kids 5 years of age and up. Feel free to bring your kids and register them at the Registration Table on the day of the event.
There is No Other Time for participating in this event.
