Each year, the PTOS provides judges for this event as a public relations gesture, to promote knowledge of patents, and encourage innovation and scientific progress by today's youth.

The categories for which judges will be selected are:

CHEMISTRY, BIOCHEMISTRY, MICROBIOLOGY, PHYSICS, ENGINEERING, COMPUTER SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, MEDICINE & HEALTH, AND EARTH & SPACE SCIENCES

The judging team selected will represent the PTOS. The judges will choose one Grand Award winner, seven First Place award winners, and eight Second Runner-Up award winners from over 1500 finalist entries originating from over 40 nations worldwide.
