Each year, the PTOS provides judges for this event as a public relations gesture, to promote knowledge of patents, and encourage innovation and scientific progress by today’s youth.  Detailed information and an application form to be a JUDGE at this year’s INTEL INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR is posted for PTOS members at http://www.ptos.org/committees/science_fair/international.html.  Additional forms are available from:

Applications to be an INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE FAIR JUDGE must be turned in to ALAN CHEN or JULIE ANNE WATKO by NOON ON JANUARY 15, 2008.

The categories for which judges will be selected are:
CHEMISTRY, BIOCHEMISTRY, MICROBIOLOGY, PHYSICS, ENGINEERING, COMPUTER SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, MEDICINE & HEALTH, AND EARTH & SPACE SCIENCES

The judging team selected will represent the PTOS.  The judges will choose one Grand Award winner, seven First Place award winners, and eight Second Runner-Up award winners from over 1500 finalist entries originating from over 40 nations worldwide.
